The Bible Study topic is: SPIRITUAL WARFARE !

( Read each Scripture passage highlighted in bold print as you go through the study )

Everyday in our Christian walk we wage a Spiritual war on two Battle Fronts, the external and internal  forces that come against us in a Spiritual battle between good and evil....In Paul’s epistle to the Ephesians his recommendation to them in being battle ready is found in Ephesians 6:13 ( Read Ephesians 6:13 ) Paul’s preparation warning message wasn’t in arming themselves with man made weapons, but by of one of a Spiritual nature, and the reason for this is found in the same Book and chapter in Vs.12 ( Read Ephesians 6:12 ) We love to gather here in fellowship and friendship, we feel safe and at peace with other believers who share in our faith...This House of the Lord is our safe haven, a place of Spiritual solitude being in God’s rest...but through those doors and back out into a world controlled by Satan is another story.....Jesus warns us of this danger in Revelation ( Read Rev. 22:15) This is the first of the two Battle Fronts, the external one...All around us were exposed to the evil that is in the world today in what we see and hear....We’re constantly hearing of just how bad people have become and how the condition of the world worsens everyday.....We are now living in the latter days of Bible prophecy of the Books of Daniel, Isaiah, Revelation and others....As Christians of course, this comes as no surprise to those of us who read our Bible...As grim as this appears to be, we have nothing to fear of these prophesies ( Read Matthew 24:6)... Jesus further explains...( Read Matthew 24:14) ..There it is!....This is of course for us the Good News of the Gospel who have been waiting for Jesus’ soon return, but for the unbeliever maybe not so good...All of these prophecies we see coming to pass right before our very eyes in the world today, is what we have all been waiting for in our faith walk from the Promises of Scripture...The 2nd coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ...So as we wait for this glorious day to arrive, the daily Spiritual battle continues....Now let’s take a look at the Second Battle Front Of Spiritual Warfare...This one my friends comes from within, an internal force against ourselves...As Christians, we try to Live and Walk in the Spirit....We pray and read our Bible, attend church and gather in fellowship with other Christian believers...We try to live and set a good example in and through our Christian lifestyle...We always try to do the right thing in everything we do, but despite our best efforts, as Christians even more so, we are not exempt from this internal Spiritual battle that confronts us every day.... ( Read 1 Timothy 4:1 )

Here’s where Satan comes in and the internal power struggle begins...Here’s how this internal struggle works against us....It begins by what we see and hear...These sounds and images are then transferred to our minds where this information is
processed into making a split second decision between good and evil...Right and wrong.....Using our gift of free will choice of what we decide do with that information will determine what kind of decision we will make...Of the world or in the Spirit...When we are confronted with this internal Spiritual temptation, there is a very short window of time to make a good and right decision Satan will use that window of opportunity to come in with his lies and counterfeit deception of confusion, trying to trick us into compromising the Truth of not doing what we know is right..( Read 1 Peter 5:8 )...We must constantly be aware and on guard for any unsuspecting attack that may come at any moment that we least expect it to come.....Even simple decisions may seem to be more complex than what they really are.....When the Truth of Scripture becomes twisted with Satan’s smokescreen of deception, it draws our focus away from God’s Word and placing us in a venerable position of temptation....Most times on certain things we know for sure are wrong, we can rebuke Satan with relative ease knowing it’s just doing what we know is right....But at certain times and instances in our lives, it may not be so easy to do...For example, we may be suffering from depression, or perhaps an illness, stressed out about financial problems, difficulty in our relationships...You can be quite certain Satan will test our faith in these times of weakened state and will focus his full attention on taking advantage of an easier target....Satan is not going to waste his time on our strong points....He wants us to take the easy road and make it easier for him...But fortunately as Christians we all have a very powerful secret weapon that Satan hates that we have to win the power struggle from within....The Holy Spirit means of escape....( Read 1 Corinthians 10:13 ) There it is !...That’s the Holy Spirit speaking to us giving us an opportunity to rebuke Satan and be freed from his attack......Scripture says resist the Devil and he will flee from you...If we even take too much time to even think about it, temptation sets in, and we begin to lose the controlling Power of the Holy Spirit and that’s where that inner power struggle begins my friends....Indecision leads to to a weakened state opened to temptation.. The Holy Spirit has enabled us with an early warning system, that small still voice inside us, at just the precise time to strike back quickly and decisively, using good, sound wisdom in combination with our free will choice in making the right decisions...

Spiritual Warfare on both fronts is not an easy battle at times, but let us all keep in mind what Paul said in Philippians 4:13    I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me...Every war is won one battle at at time including Spiritual ones....Satan has no power over you and is the enemy that can be defeated through the Power of the Holy Spirit....

So in closing review: We have discovered the two forces that come against us each day, one from without and one from within...the secret weapon of the Holy Spirit means of escape, being armed with the Spiritual weapons of Scripture given to us in waging war against it...and by putting on the full armor of God to be fully protected, battle ready for Spiritual Warfare.....

Closing Prayer....Let us pray :Thank you Lord for revealing to us in Your Word the Spiritual insight that our battle against the enemy is waged from within, and not from without...Help us not to be deceived and see clearly the tricks of the enemy to lead us astray from Your protection and the Truth of Your Word...The battle against evil may be ours but our victory is in Jesus Christ who overcame sin and death by His Resurrection and so we too on the Last Day will be raised in glory !

In Jesus name we pray...Amen

The Bible Study topic is:  THE LAW IS SPIRITUAL

To understand the Bible correctly, we must understand that the Law of God is Spiritual....The Commandments and Word of God have a hidden message meaning in comparison to just the reading and comprehending the written word..God’s message in each passage can only be revealed and made known to us in the Spirit...The Law of God is not intended to be followed by our own works of righteousness but by faith alone in Jesus Christ...When the law is understood spiritually, we can clearly see that our salvation is through faith in Jesus Himself, and does not depend at all upon our own good works...The Bible cannot be fully understood or followed dependent on our own natural wisdom because the natural mind cannot understand the Word of God....... Paul explains in this bible example in Romans 7:14 : For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin....meaning, we cannot follow the Law of God based on what it says to do with human understanding...We must learn the hidden wisdom of God to be able to understand...In 1 Corinthians 2:7,10 it says: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit... For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.....We must rightly divide the word of Truth to see what God really requires of us which is our faith in Jesus, and not our own works to be saved...Paul said in Ephesians 2:8,9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast....In Romans 8:3,4 we read: For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk   according to the flesh but according to the Spirit...Once we come to Jesus, we receive Holy Spirit power enabling us to understand God’s Word, our hearts now   spiritually convicted we are then able to keep all of the Commandments of God spiritually....The righteousness of the law is then fulfilled in us in that way.....God no longer requires anything else from us for salvation other than faith alone in His Son Jesus....Jesus supplied the ultimate sacrifice...We just have to believe in Him and that sacrifice for our salvation....Only then do we gain freedom to live our life free from the bondage of the Law....In John 8:32 it says: And you shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make you free.....Now we can understand through that last passage that we fulfill the righteousness of the law when we are born of the Spirit through faith in Christ....

We then realize the law is spiritual through the teaching and inner workings of the Holy Spirit... However, without the Spirit of God, we cannot see things spiritually or cannot understand the Word of God without the Spirit of God.....In 1 Corinthians 2:12-14: Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God....These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual...But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned...The Bible says we will know if someone is righteous by the fruit they bear....If we try to keep the Commandments of God naturally in the flesh, we bear the fruit of the flesh...If we trust in the teachings of Jesus alone, in complete dependence in understanding the Word of God spiritually, we then bear the fruit produced by the Spirit of God......I will now read these three final Scripture passages from 2 Timothy 3:16,17, James 1:5 and Matthew 13:12....First in 2 Timothy 3:16,17....All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,   that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.....Then in James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him....And in Matthew 13:12 For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him....
John warns us in Revelation 22:18,19 not to add or take away from His Word.... The Gospel of Jesus Christ is simply believing in His life, death, burial, and resurrection...When we believe the Gospel of Jesus, through His teachings, we receive the Spirit of God... Jesus said in John14;6: I am the Way, the Truth and the Life....No one comes to the Father except through me...Nothing else is required for salvation other then accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior of your life in your heart....

So in closing review of the Bible Study, we have learned that the Moral Law of God is Spiritual, that it resides in our heart, mind and Spirit, that we are in loving obedience to God’s Law not in order to be saved, but because we are saved...that the Holy Spirit convicts our hearts in coming to Christ, through faith alone in Jesus is sufficient and the only way for salvation, and that we produce the fruit of the Spirit by the understanding of God’s Word....

Closing remarks...What I believe God has revealed to me in the Spirit to be the Truth of His Word in Scripture, I have shared that  knowledge with you....but just don’t take my word for it......I encourage you to look it up in Scripture yourself what you have heard me teach to you today....The Bible says in 1 John 4:1 Beloved, ( That’s you ) do not believe every spirit, (Ministers, teachers, pastors and preachers ) but test the spirits, whether they are of God; ( That what they say and teach lines up with the Word of God ) because many false prophets have gone out into the world...( People aren’t always what or who they seem to be)..Remember what it says in Matthew 13:12: For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.....Read God's Word everyday !

Closing Prayer.... Let us pray : Thank you Lord for the wisdom of new knowledge of Scripture we have received...We ask and pray for clear discernment in understanding what we have learned today and that we will retain it to memory and share this knowledge with others.....Draw us closer and nearer to you with each Scripture passage we read by the convicting power of the Holy Spirit in seeking more of the Truth of Your Word.....In Jesus name...Amen

Thank you all for coming......See you next time !
